Product & process

Where do you source cocoa husks? We source our cocoa husks from (Belgium-based) artisan chocolatiers who roast their own cocoa beans. The chocolatiers, in turn, typically have longstanding relations with small(er) farms around the world.

Is CHUKWA waste-reducing? Yes. Cocoa husks are the main side product from chocolate production. Also see our CHUK-what? page.

Is CHUKWA bio? Yes, we are bio certified (BE-BIO-01)! This means that all our ingredients (cocoa husks + spices), are organic.

Is CHUKWA vegan? 100%.

Does CHUKWA contain caffeine? Nope. Have as much as you like, without the jitters. CHUKWA does contain theobromine, see our CHUK-what? page for more on that.

What’s in the chai blend? CHUKWA Chai is made with a home-made blend of cinnamon, cardamom, ginger, black pepper, nutmeg and cloves.
